Decide whether your guests should be seated or standing. If you want people seated then provide some chairs or a sofa and then set the tripod to the appropriate height. You can also include a few props to add interest to the scene. The resulting pictures will be more flattering if you have the right lighting. A spotlight and a photography umbrella will really help and you might be able to find someone who can lend you the lighting equipment.
